The Neosho National Fish Hatchery Visitor Center, which opened its doors to the public in December 2010, achieved Gold status according to the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED rating system. Freshwater Drum from Pond 20




These freshwater drum were retrieved from Pond 20.  The smaller fish in the video are thought to be at least four years old based on otolith aging techniques.  They were given to Dr Chris Barnhart's lab for native mussel propagation at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO.  Some of the bigger drum were placed in our aquarium tank in the new visitor center.  They are thought to be at least 6.5 years old.
