The Mission of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service: working with others to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.

The Neosho National Fish Hatchery Visitor Center, which opened its doors to the public in December 2010, achieved Gold status according to the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED rating system. It is the first facility within U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Fisheries program to receive this prestigious rating. Read more about this here: http://www.fws.gov/midwest/neosholeed.htm

Visitor Center Gift Shop

The hatchery gift shop, located in the new visitor center, is currently open Monday-Friday 10am-3:30pm, weather permitting.  Because we have just opened and harsh winter weather is upon us, the gift shop may not be open when you visit.  It is run strictly by volunteers.  If in doubt of the gift shop's hours on the day you are planning to visit, please call the hatchery's main number 417-451-0554.

The gift shop features books about Missouri native flora and fauna and local history by local authors.  The store carries handmade arts and crafts made by local artisans.
